Government Affairs Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and strengthens existing government relations and assists with building new government relelations at different levels.

  • Keeps track of and anyalyze national and local policies on joint venture education programs in the hope of providing support to the leadership’s decision making.

  • Assists the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff in drafting reports requested by various levels of the government.

  • Takes minutes at meetings as requested by the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff.

  • Acts as resource and information person to the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff and CEO as required.

  • Assists the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff with event planning, logistics, and support which pertains to the executive offices.

  • Assists the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff in preparing and receiving government visitors.

  • Assists the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff in preparing documentations and information needed by the CEO Office for various purposes.

  • Works closely with the Supervisor, CEO Office in providing support to the CEO and the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff.

  • Assists the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff in Board relations and tasks pertaining LIMC New York.

  • Any other jobs/tasks as required by the needs of the Chief Government Affairs Officer and Chief of Staff.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.

  • Strong background/experience in working with the government. Highly familiar with government structure and working mechanism.

  • Excellent English skills in both oral and written.

  • Exceptional Chinese writing skills. Highly familiar with government report writing.

  • Good project management and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, communicate effectively, attention to detail, innovative thinking, technological vision, strong service orientation, energy, enthusiasm, and demonstrated ability to work well with others.

  • Desire to work in an educational setting and in a team with an international make-up.

  • Familiarity and appreciation of classical music preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience using a personal computer and office software such as MS Office.
