Greg Turner, now 24 years old, began his piano journey at the age of 10, recreating what he saw on YouTube videos on a small toy keyboard. By the age of 17, Greg made his Carnegie Hall debut as the prize-winner for Best Performance of a Romantic Composition at the New York Piano Festival and Competition. This significant achievement marked the beginning of his performance career.
Since his debut, Greg has performed in various venues throughout New York and his hometown of Michigan, including Kilbourn Hall, Paul Recital Hall, and the Michael A. Guido Theatre with the Dearborn Symphony. His talent has earned him prizes in several international competitions, including the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition, the Marian Garcia International Piano Competition, and the Kuleshov International Piano Competition, where he won first prize.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music from Juilliard, both in piano performance. He has studied with some of the foremost piano teachers in the world, including Nelita True, Boris Slutsky, Alan Chow, and Julian Martin.
In addition to performing, Greg is dedicated to music education. Through his teaching, he seeks to instill in his students the passion for music that he possesses. His individualized approach helps each student achieve their artistic goals, fostering both technical skill and a deep love for music.
