Andrei Caval

Born in Bucharest, Romania, clarinetist Andrei Caval is currently pursuing his Artist Diploma at The Juilliard School, studying with Professor Charles Neidich. Andrei has been awarded with The Clarinet prize at the Royal College of Music in London in 2020 and was a semi-finalist at the BBC Young Musician Competition in the woodwind category. Andrei has performed extensively both as a soloist and as an orchestral musician. He was the principal clarinetist of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2017, with which he performed at the BBC Proms and the Berlioz Festival in France. He has given recitals at Stoller Hall in Manchester, St. James Picadilly Hall in London, Paul Hall in Juilliard and Mogosoaia Palace in Romania. In February 2022 Andrei performed as principal clarinetist of the Juilliard Symphony Orhcestra in Carnegie Hall, New York. Andrei began his studies at the George Enescu School of Music when he was 10. He later attended the Royal College of Music in London and participated in an exchange program during which he studied with Andreas Sunden at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. In 2023 he finished his Masters degree at The Juilliard School.
